A plain guide to the first year of higher education, arranged by subject.

Who, how and why

About this site: who publishes it, and who teaches the diplomas

level4diploma.org is written and published by LearnLoom Consultants, a consultancy based in Hong Kong that acts as an independent recruitment agent for London School of Planning and Management. The programmes it describes are taught, assessed and put forward for certification by LSPM, not by this site. This page keeps the two roles apart.

LearnLoom Consultants is an independent recruitment agent for London School of Planning and Management (LSPM), the OTHM and Qualifi approved centre that delivers, assesses and certifies the programmes described on this site. This site is published by the agent and is not operated by LSPM, OTHM or Qualifi. Applications are made directly to LSPM, and LSPM pays the agent a fee when a learner it introduces enrols.

In plain terms: we are a recruitment agent. We read the awarding bodies' specifications closely, we write the programme pages, guides and subject introductions on this site, we answer the enquiries that come through it, and when someone decides they want to apply we pass them to LSPM's admissions team. Everything on this site that is opinion, comparison or advice is ours and is signed as such.

How we are paid

LSPM pays us a fee when a learner we have introduced enrols. You pay nothing to us, and nothing extra to LSPM because you arrived through this site: the fee you are quoted is LSPM's published fee for the programme. Because of that arrangement, every link from this site to LSPM is a commercial link and is marked as one.

What we do not do

Part two: who delivers the programmes

London School of Planning and Management (LSPM) is the approved centre. It holds centre approval from OTHM and from Qualifi, and it is registered in the United Kingdom as [LSPM legal entity name], company number [LSPM company number]. Its address is Office 7, 35-37 Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7JN. Its own website is www.lspm.org.uk, and its admissions team can be reached on +44 (0)20 3868 8831.

An approved centre is the organisation an awarding body has inspected and licensed to run its qualifications. For a learner that means LSPM registers you with OTHM or Qualifi, timetables and teaches the units, sets the assignment briefs against the awarding body's assessment criteria, marks and internally moderates your work, presents samples of it for external verification, and then claims your certificate from the awarding body once verification is complete. LSPM also owns the learner agreement you sign, the fee you pay and the complaints procedure that covers teaching and assessment. None of those things pass through this site.

You can check LSPM's approval status without taking our word for it: the awarding bodies page explains how to verify a centre with OTHM and Qualifi directly.

How the information on this site is produced

Every programme page keeps two kinds of content visibly apart. The facts (qualification title, Ofqual number, credits, total qualification time, guided learning hours, unit titles and the awarding body's published entry wording) are drawn from the current specification and checked against the Ofqual register, and each page links to both. The editorial around those facts (what the programme is really like, who it suits and who it does not, where it honestly leads) is ours. It comes from reading the specifications unit by unit, from years of conversations with applicants, and from hearing back from learners after they have enrolled with LSPM. Where we describe how LSPM teaches or sequences a programme, we say so, and we tell you to confirm the current arrangement with LSPM before you rely on it.

We do not reproduce awarding-body marketing copy, and we do not print testimonials, statistics or university partner names that cannot be shown in writing. Where a fact is missing from the data behind the site, the page says "see specification" rather than inventing a number.

Why the site exists

Level 4 is the least explained rung of the qualification ladder. People arrive asking whether it is a degree, whether it carries UCAS points, and whether a university will let them skip a year with it. Those questions deserve answers arranged by subject rather than by sales funnel, and that is what this site tries to be. If, having read it, you decide a programme fits, the enquiry form reaches us and the Apply link reaches LSPM. If you decide it does not, the site has still done its job.

LearnLoom Consultants also publishes level5diploma.org, level6diploma.org, level7diploma.org and level8diploma.org, one for each of the other qualification levels that LSPM delivers. They share an owner, a purpose and a fee arrangement with LSPM; they do not share text, and each is written for a different reader. We name them here rather than link to them so the common ownership is on the record.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, Use Enquiry form with the page address. We correct factual errors within five working days and note material changes on the page concerned.

Before you decide

Ask an adviser, not a sales team

The form takes two minutes. We read every enquiry ourselves and reply with an honest view of whether the programme fits, what LSPM currently charges for it, and when the next intake starts. No obligation, and no follow-up calls you did not ask for. If you want to go ahead, we introduce you to LSPM's admissions team.
